Monthly Grant for Spouse of Deceased Government Servant in Punjab - Eligibility Criteria, Grant Rates, and Application Process

- The spouse must be a widow or widower of a deceased government servant.

- The spouse must not have remarried (in case of widow) or must not have had another wife at the time of death (in case of widower).

- The spouse must be a dependent of the deceased government servant.

Grant Rates:

The monthly grant rates vary based on the pay scale of the deceased government servant. The grant rates are as follows:

Gazetted (Part-I):

BS 16-17: PKR 6,500 per month

BS 18-19: PKR 11,500 per month

BS 20 and above: PKR 15,500 per month

Non-Gazetted (Part-II):

BS 01-10: PKR 3,000 per month

BS 11-15: PKR 3,500 per month

Order of Precedence:

In case the deceased government servant is not survived by a spouse, the monthly grant will be sanctioned in favor of the following family members in the order of precedence:

1. Daughter (till marriage or 21 years)

2. Son (for 15 years or till 21 years)

3. Children (for 15 years or till youngest male child is 21 years)

4. Parents (for 15 years)

5. Sister (youngest, till marriage or 21 years)

Application Process:

To apply for the monthly grant, the spouse or family member of the deceased government servant must submit an application to the relevant government department. The application must be accompanied by the required documents, including the death certificate of the government servant and proof of dependency. By providing this monthly grant, the government of Punjab aims to support the families of deceased government servants and help them cope with the financial difficulties that may arise after the loss of their loved one.
